Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre

There are plenty of impressive new developments fringing the famous 70km stretch of Queensland’s Gold Coast but none more focused on bringing business and pleasure together in this beautiful part of the world than the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre (GCCEC).

Located in Broadbeach on a 5.74ha site, the GCCEC is regional Australia's largest and called for Queensland’s largest commercial painting contracting business to get the job done right.

Higgins Coatings' team of around 30 painters led by Keith Cameron and Kevin Doran had their work cut out for them from the outset managing a massive job over a 12 month period that covered the exterior, main 6000 seat arena, several halls, dining rooms, theatres, car park and more.

Higgins encountered numerous logistical challenges from time and space constraints due to the GCCEC's normal operations to access issues that were effectively overcome by strict OH&S compliance, a flexible workforce, appropriate equipment including booms and cages plus a willingness to exceed expectations.

Racing against the clock to meet official opening deadlines, Higgins' timely finishing touches left this wonderful state-of-the-art facility looking absolutely stunning and ready to receive hundreds of thousands of visitors and delegates, plenty of accolades and industry awards.
