Manly Wharf
In Manly the saying is, “Seven miles from Sydney and a thousand miles from care.” For the Higgins team repainting the famous Manly Wharf the saying was, “Whatever it takes because we care.”
Built in 1854, the Higgins’ team knew all too well that the heritage-listed wharf is one of the busiest tourist and harbour commuter terminals in Sydney that includes restaurants, retail outlets and a fun park.
Using knuckle booms, scissor lifts and scaffolding around the clock tower, the team began the St.Hilliers project in May 2002 and had to contest with inclement weather and the comings and goings of Manly ferry passengers.
Due to the unavoidable disruptions the team had to pick-up the pace to meet the completion deadline; however, with that steadfast Higgins’ determination they didn’t miss a beat.
