Since 1927, Government House, Canberra has been the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II representative in Australia, the Governor-General. Set on a stunning 53 hectares at Yarralumla overlooking Lake Burley Griffin, Government House was originally built in the early-1890’s and has been significantly added to in subsequent years.

Higgins Coatings has been busy since early-2000’s fulfilling a specifically tailored maintenance program to paint all the exteriors of all the buildings and structures on this extremely significant and highly sensitive national treasure.

Co-ordinating operations with local Facilities Management and a team of heritage architects, a Higgins Coatings painting crew supervised by Andrew Winfield has answered the call demonstrating immense professionalism and flexibility at all times.

With visiting dignitaries including the Queen and Prince Phillip plus formal functions being a regular part of life at Yarralumla, security is of paramount importance and all Higgins’ team members must undergo stringent police checks while being screened at frequent intervals.
