Metlife Care - The Avenues

In the end it was invaluable experience that ensured Higgins Coatings provided Metlifecare Limited with an unforgettable finish at the substantial New Zealand group’s The Avenues retirement village at Tauranga.

Supervisor Mike Taylor and Foreman Hayden Armitage led the way with great skill and authority during summer where The Avenues’ 3-storey main building had its exterior with balconies plastered and painted over a 3 month period.

Thorough project planning, management and communication were integral to make absolutely certain that procedures such as safety for all retirement village residents, staff and the Higgins’ team were followed without compromise particularly as all elevations had full scaffolding. 

The challenging logistics were taken in the team’s stride who demonstrated a high-level of workmanship and professionalism that was acknowledged along the way with cups of tea and freshly baked scones from appreciative residents!

Client Belvedere Constructions and Metlifecare management were equally impressed with the Bay of Plenty team’s running of the project which was successfully completed ahead of schedule while Resene Paints were so happy with Higgins’ handiwork that this silky smooth X200 finish will feature in the Resene magazine.
