Thanking Higgins for getting involved, AFL Chief Executive Andrew Demetriou was delighted with the work undertaken to prepare the venue and also with the turnout telling the Herald Sun, “To be able to bring people together in this community is fantastic.”

Invited by Grocon to paint the clubrooms and get them up to professional AFL standard, Manny Verigos was instrumental in organising Higgins involvement and sponsorship of the event. For the record, the Tigers of old turned the tables on the depleted reigning premiers in this NAB Challenge pre-season fixture to score a rare victory by 51 points.
