Te Puia Partnership Springs Eternal
Higgins has been known to spout off about doing ‘Whatever It Takes’ to achieve the best outcomes for our customers but never has this been so true than at Rotorua’s famed hot springs and mud pools precinct at Te Puia.
Home to the spectacular Pohutu geyser, Te Puia is New Zealand’s third most visited tourist attraction and a place that presented numerous challenges for Higgins asked by the New Zealand Maori Arts and Crafts Institute to develop a long-term maintenance painting program.
Keen to enhance the sites special character, Higgins considered the harsh climatic conditions, the influx of over 500,000 visitors annually and the national heritage and spiritual significance of Te Puia to successfully create a tailored programme removing risk and minimizing disruption to day-to-day operations.
